Why is the conference scheduled around the holidays?
Due to budget constraints, Federal Student Aid books conferences during a time when it can get the most for the amount of money available. Typically, fewer conferences are booked during this time and hotels are willing to provide us discounts. This allows us to provide more services for you for the least amount of money.

Why is there only one conference this year?
Due to budget constraints, Federal Student Aid will hold a single annual fall conference instead of the two fall conferences offered in past years. The sessions will continue to provide financial aid industry participants with critical program and policy information necessary to participate in the student financial assistance programs.
